Last Minute August Challenge for KIU

Hey all,
Did not think I would get this done in time! It is my take on the sketch challenge over at Kraft It Up for August, really loved the sketch, was going to give it a go if I met the deadline or not, so here it is:

I do struggle with sketches at times and sticking to the task. I seem to get a little side tracked and it ends up looking nothing like the actual sketch but I think this is the closest one I have done to the plan!

Used up lots of my scrap papers, buttons and stickers from my stash!  I love my new Crafters Workshop stencil used it to make the background (Cannot get enough of these, I think I like the versatility of the 6x6 ones best!) on the Tim Holtz paper, that I have been dying to use!

Had to add a ScrapFX title that was perfectly suited to the job!

That is about it for August! Can this year go any quicker???????
Until next time,

August challenge at "Stuck"

Back again with my first ever entry over at Stuck. I just saw the sketch and instantly knew I had to give it a go:

And here 'tis, apologies for the crappy photo, action shots are pretty awkward at times, but I so wanted to do a LO of my little Action Man!!!! So this is for the sentiment rather than for a cool photo.

First I misted over a prima mask with 2 colours  then used my go to background stamp, that you would probably spot on all of my latest LO's ( I know I am fixated on it a little) and roughly dabbed it all over the place for a random feel. I ripped up some scraps I had, (don't we all?) Then combined the strips with some of that totally awesome tissue tape that looks "hot" no matter where it goes!

Added some misted, scrunched  muslin for texture then played with some ScrapFX chippies. I have had the Title for so long (bonding) had to use it but wanted to rough it up a little, so after inking I simply gave it a bit of a sand and it got all grungy round the edges, perfect!
The reedy flourishy thingy (technically speaking), is a new product and I just love that it is not too girly, perfect for the boys!!!
Added some of what I call Boy flowers, can never go past a bit of twine!
A bit of journalling, and some more muslin here and there and all is complete, probably one of the quickest LO's I have ever done, I just knew exactly what I wanted to do, if only all pages I start flowed so easily!!!

Well that is all till next time, have no idea what to do next, may even surprise myself!!

Scrap the boys August Challenge

A big Hi to all,
Sorry to take so long to get back to this but my technical incompetency did not allow me to post for so long!!!!! Yes I am a gump but am learning to just press a few buttons and hey presto all fixed, don't really know what was wrong in the first place but hey I am here!
So what have I been doing (other than cursing at said technology and asking my 10 yo to fix it)? Well not too much really, amazing how much time frustration can take up, and, I have to admit, I am a little addicted to Pintrest..... so much to see on there! Anyhow back to it, I am currently still looking for that lost Mojo and have really struggled to create anything. This is my take on the August Challenge over at Scrap the Boys.

The inspiration was this photo:

And this is what I finally came up with:

I decided to focus on all the woodgrain and the wheel thingy so that I could indulge my cog fetish yet again, am out of them now so will have to find another passion!!!! Tee Hee

Am really struggling with this Blogger ATM it has chucked a massive Tanty on me and won't let me post with the latest editor only the old one so it is incredibly frustrating, it is refusing to submit to my needs so I have no idea how this is going to come out, so I apologize in advance.

Really have to go away now and hope against hope that it decides to correct itself and behave in a more congenial manner. What are my chances you think? Perhaps it was something I said earlier that has thrown it in a spin?
Until next time I decide to do battle,
I bid you all farewell,
Michelle

Recovering a Lost" Mojo"

 A big Hello To All,
Well, what a dry spell! Have had no inspiration at all! I am trying my best to work my way through this unsettling period!
I have looked through all my old LO's (that was a journey in itself believe me!!!!) and surprisingly enough I got the urge to just take a photo and go with it. Just like I used to do, in the life before I discovered all those wonderful challenge sites!
So here it is in all its glory:

Still very taken with the colours Orange And Yellow obviously.

Used Texture paste & the 6x6 crafters workshop stencil that I love so. Then I sprayed Studio Calico mist in marmalade and sunshine and the background was born!

Altered the Prima bird to match and added Muslin and ScrapFx twig for a bit of texture.
A swish of paint in grey and yellow and some rough stamping with a background block to add to the grungy feel and to make it a little more "boyish".

Used a combination of hand lettering, stamps and chipboard to create the title that I combined with the journalling. A fun thing to do when you don't really know what direction you are going!

So there you have it, my drought breaking LO, done just..... because.
Hoping my Mojo returns real soon !!!
Have a great week!!
