A Heads Up for a Blog Hop

Hey all,
Scrap FX is having their very first Bog Hop!!!!!

Very exciting for the brand new Design Team I can tell you, so why don't you join us for a get together, you never know you may find a little inspiration and a prize or 2 for stopping by!
There is an awesome Main Prize up for grabs From Scrap FX, just take a peek at this;

This is the main "goody" (over $100 worth of luscious chippies).  Some of the girls, including myself, are giving away smaller random prizes on their individual Blogs as well, just for leaving some love!
So why don't you join in the fun?
Come get to know some amazingly talented individuals, LOL oh I just put myself in that category (I'm really there for the laughs)!!!
Here is a sneak Peek at what I have created especially for the hop:

All it takes is a little time to cruise each blog for some "Love-ly" inspiration ( that is a hint at the theme of the Hop).

So where and when you ask?

Here 'tis: Starts on Thurs 3rd May at 9am (Aussie time) and goes through to Sunday 6th May Midnight.

Head on over to the Scrap FX Blog for more details, although Little Miss Have a Chat (ie Me) has pretty much told you all you need to know!!!

Throwing Stuff at my Art Journal

Have been having a bunch of fun with my Art Journal lately, just love how good it feels to just Play and see what becomes of it. Am getting better at knowing when to stop now too. I cannot say I love every page I have done, but that is part of the creative process isn't it?

So this is what I have had time to do, I tend to be a very slow Scrapper so the journals allow me to have a quick crafty fix without the angst of doing a photo justice.

Tried to do a bit of a water colour effect here then filled in the details with ink.

Had to use some of that"go- to" fave: Washi Tape from Sawyers Place

The flower heads are an old Hero Arts stamp set, I seem to be revisiting a lot of my old stash lately!

I actually think this is my Fave so far, just played with a little paint.

Finger painted the circles then added some scrap paper, love how this just "worked".

Had no idea where this one was headed but as I said before, some I liked.... some.... not so much!

Played with ink again for the tree branch... still ,,, not sure about it.

Lets just move on.... !

Oh this one was so fun must have been in a good mood!

Colour glorious Colour!!!

And how true is that quote!

Last one for this post inspired by a pretty serviette!!!!
There you have it, if anyone else out there is trying their hand at some journalling I would love to sneek a peek! Leave a comment and I promise to pay you a visit my friend!!!
Thanks for stopping by,

Show and Tell

Yes, Time has flown, but I won't be distracted with that! I just want to show that I have had a little bit of fun with the arrow corner and spinners from Scrap FX. Got to find more hours in the day for play time!

Anyhow here 'tis:

Used the Arrow corner with embossing powder that I have had forever called weathered wood, came up with a very textured finish. Then I sprayed with some mist and allowed it to "pool".

Stuck an old book page under the cloud to make it "pop".

Still stuck on using the strips of paper and just love Grey, Blue and Yellow right now!

Did the same embossing with the chipboard title, more of Scrap FX, this time their Freestyle alphas!

And finally a closer look at that corner and the Tag (also Scrap FX), and of coarse those buttons put me in my happy place!
Thanks for stopping by,

Scrap FX Shadow Box

Oh Boy, have I been having a bit of Fun!!!!

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of ScrapFX's new shadow box kits, and my mind just went nuts with ideas! (Looks like I may have to get some more of these little beauties!!!) I did not narrow down what I wanted to do with it until this weekend when I really started having a play.

The kit comes with all the chipboard pieces you need to form the box. They fit together easily so creating is a breeze.

As you can see I went with the bird theme, I was inspired by the awesome bird cages that are also new to the ScrapFX range.

Used Mica paints on the chipboard pieces and dimensional Magic to add some shine to the birds.

I have been playing around with these paper feathers for a while and after refining my clumsy technique, I love the texture they can add to things. I made these ones out of an old hymn book, I loved the fine paper that curled up as I dried the mists.

Used some old story book paper as the background loved the illustrations!!! Just continued layering to get some depth and texture.

The tag is also Scrap FX, with the lazer cut out I just had to use it!!!

There you have it, that is what I have been up to. If you can get your hands on one of these kits don't be scared, they are so much fun to put together and the possibilities are endless!
Yes Gotta' get me some more! (have I said this already) Oh, and they do come in 2 sizes, this is the large one, they come with a little hanger thingy so you can position them either way! Did I say Awesomenessss!!!

Have a great week!!!
