More Hexie Love

Yes, I know, yet another page featuring Hexagons, just a bit of a fetish going on, but at least I am out of the paper strip phase!

I am loving the colour (or shade apparently)  GREY.... love its versatility and all its various shades!

So here is the page :

My boy and two of his beautiful cousins.
Created a background with Gesso and splashes or drips of yellow mist and a bit of stamping, had no idea where I was going with that!

Used Scrap FX Chippies, Chain Frame, a mix of Script and Retro alphas.
Used My Minds Eye paper, love how easy hexagons are to cut out, no fussy cutting for this little black duck!
Just roughly coated the chippies with acrylic paint, wanted a bit of the natural colour to show through. Cut the frame so that I could use it on more than 1 thing, hate using up something I love on just one project (see the post before this one) still love the way it looks and so easy to do!

Created clusters with random buttons, brads and other bits and pieces in the old
stash I had forgotten I had!

Cannot seem to add a button without a thread through it... is it just me or am I the only one?
Stamped on a few of the hexies to add some interest.

Then I had to add a touch of tape... no page complete without it these days!
Thanks for stopping by,
Hugs,

Bird Is The Word SEE Challenge & a few other Bits.

Ok this is my take on the Bird Challenge using the word "SEE". Got a little bit Grungy this time, very hard to do flowers and pretty with a teenage Boy as the focus, so I felt messy was the way to go (just like his room really!!!!)
So here it is:
Found this quote on Pinterest, it is just amazing what you can find, but I do tend to get distracted and end up wasting hours of valuable scrappin' time!

So Sorry
Out for Publication
will be Back Soon!

The photo is my Big Fella at 14 taken over Easter.

The chippies are all ScrapFX, I used the Funky alphas, and pointing hand, Chain frame (all cut up into pieces) and Keyhole.

Used loads of paint on all the chippies and the BG too.

Those very cool stamps are Studio Calico, just adore the camera!

There is even some Washi tape on there as well, but really is that any surprise???

While I am here I thought I would show the latest in my Art Journal as well, for a while there, this is all I had time for so here goes:

Nothing too much to say about these except, loads of paint ink and all things messy... love it!!!

I tend to use my journals to collect quotes found along the way and to try out different techniques that I may want to try on other things.

I absolutely love the colours on this one, but do you think I can remember what I used???? Grrr, not a chance, the problem with just chucking stuff around!

Ok now I can let you go, thanks so much for dropping by!!!

Show and Tell

At last found time to do a little Scrappin'!
I have been waiting for the rain to go AWAY!!! to get better light for photos but it appears that is so not going to happen, so here is what I have been doing (apologies for the bad photos, I did my best!!):

I did this for the challenge over at "Lets Get Shabby". The requirement was to do something geometric, got these yummo papers recently from Lifestyle crafts and loved the simple patterns!
Created the different heights of the shapes by stacking double sided foam tape, with one layer it just looked too flat!

The chippie words are from Scrap FX of course part of there wordlet theme packs summer and family.

The cute camera stamp is from Studio Calico another old fave!

Will be back again soon with, hopefully, better photos, hangin' out for that sun to shine!!!
Thanks for dropping by!

Scrap FX Blog Hop

Welcome to the very first Scrap FX Blog Hop!!!!

Hi & welcome, my name is Michelle and this is my little creative corner where I share what makes me Happy!
I am an Aussie Mum to 2 Boys and I am  addicted to all things paper, paint and ink. I don't do flowers or pretty terribly well (I only have Boys) but I love getting inky fingers and splashing paint around. But enough about me, lets get busy with the hop!!!

This is your first stop and I hope you have time to sit, have a coffee and join us for a creative adventure!

Now because there are a few of us to get through I shall try to keep my ramblings to a minimum.
The theme for the Hop is "Love", which coincides with the new releases by Scrap FX for April, we all had a heap of fun with these! So make sure you pay everyone a visit and leave a comment to be in the running for a "Fabbo" Scrap FX prize pack. Feast your eyes on this lot:

Ok, so here is what I created. I played around with the small shadow box kit. Sooo much fun to play with!
Sorry about the photos but the weather here has not been kind, & what do you know.... the shadow box actually casts a bit of shadow inside!

All of the components are Scrap FX Chipboard yummies.

A close up view of the inside of the box.

The Swallow is treated with crackle accents.

Love the teeny wings!

So that is it from me, if you have any questions leave it in the comments field & I will get back to you. I tried to keep it short and sweet as you do have an inspiring road ahead of you! Be sure to visit all the other girls in the hop their work is amazing and all of them have very different styles, so we hope you will all find something to inspire!

Don't forget, to be in the running for the grand prize, you have till the 6th May at Midnight to leave a comment at each Designers' Blog and at the end of your journey leave some love at the ScrapFX Blog!

If you decide to become a follower here, I have a little random prize that I will give away aswell! Take a peek:
