Scrap Around the World Challenge for May

Have you seen the awesome mood board at Scrap Around the World Challenge site?

I was so taken by the celebratory theme, I had to put aside some time to make something fun for it.
I loved the colours and was particularly inspired by the dots on those spectacular shoes!
So here is my LO, featuring my eldest and my niece at their very first wedding, they had an absolute ball!

I started with the random dots stencil by Scrap FX and texture paste then just went a little wild with the colour sprays, just never know when to stop!

I cut the wordlet to suit and can you spy some Scrap FX newbies? Check out that squiggle frame and scribble roses......Love 'em!

I coloured the title with Lindys Stamp Gang Spray over gessoed chipboard and the "roses" and frame have had the embossing treatment!
So that is about all with me do check the challenge out, it is a beauty!

Another Bit Of Fun!

Hello everyone, I am Back!!
I thought I would show a page I finished recently after creating an experimental background using tin foil and black and white gesso.
I really liked the effect, and left it sitting in my room for days 'till I decided what to do with it!
Here is the background that I did not want to touch for fear of spoiling it!

And here is what I (eventually) did with it!

I used a typical photo of my eldest fella' ........yes...... can you tell he is a little over me and my ever present camera???
Here are the detail shots, the title is a very cool phrase by Scrap FX that I treated with embossing enamel by Stampendous.

Here is a better shot of that background that was soooo accidental, but just so right to my eye!
I am so going to do that technique again, for sure! Next time I will know what I am doing and will try and remember to either take a video or at least a few process shots. Yeh Yeh I hear you say, but I PROMISE!!

So that is about all I have for you right now everyone, I shall be back soon, I have a few projects to write up, have been terribly slack!

A Page Just for Fun

Hello Everyone!
I am back trying to post more regularly and as I had a little play on the weekend, I had something to share. So here is my latest, just for fun layout. I have been playing with those pesky flakes again, cannot help it, I just adore the look they create.

I had this background done for a week or so and I loved it so much I did not want to mess with it until I bonded fully!

Loads of paint, flakes and a touch of texture with a stencil and texture paste. I wanted to replicate the ripples in the water behind my niece in the background, then chose the chipboard pieces for the same reason, I just tried to get random organic shapes.

The chippies are from Scrap FX and the flakes are by Indigo Blu. I painted the background using my favourite colour combo then added the flakes in a random manner. I then dwelt on what to do next for a few days, and felt it was a little flat so went with some subtle texture paste script using a Crafters Workshop Stencil.

Once that was done the rest was easy peasy chippie alterations to blend with the background....yes got out those flakes again, seriously addicted!

A few more paper layers, micro beads, fibres and liquid pearls and I needed to STOP!!!... before totally ruining the background I loved so much.

I really enjoyed the process of not being tied to a deadline or a challenge for a change and cleared the creative cobwebs for a bit, highly recommend just getting back to creating for the enjoyment, did me the world of good.....all ready to tackle some DT commitments again. Very soon they are all done, so I have no idea what is next, any ideas??? Anyone need a messy gal? Better get my act together and start applying to calls .....or should I just Play? Hmmm something to ponder over the next few weeks!
Enough of a ramble, thanks for stopping by my Lovelies, see you all next time I am back here with something to share!
Hugs
